CNNC Unveils Nuclear Energy Solutions to Combat Climate Change in Vienna

From Oct 9th to 11th, Gu Jun, the general manager of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), led a delegation to the Second International Conference on Climate Change and the Role of Nuclear Energy held by the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. During the conference, CNNC hosted a side event titled "CNNC's Solutions for Addressing Climate Change," showcasing its solutions for the multifunctional utilization of nuclear energy to the world. Zhang Kejian, the chairman of China Atomic Energy Authority, and Li Song, the permanent representative and ambassador plenipotentiary and extraordinary of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna, participated in the conference and side events.

Gu Jun keynoted the high-level forum, introducing CNNC's commitment to safety, innovation, the market, and talent. These efforts have not only significantly enhanced the competitiveness of nuclear energy but have also contributed to the "dual carbon" goal. Gu Jun expressed CNNC's willingness to collaborate with other countries to jointly build a green, low-carbon, and sustainable future.

During the thematic side event hosted by CNNC on Oct 10th, CNNC outlined the role and prospects of nuclear energy in addressing climate change, presented specific applications of nuclear energy in various fields, and introduced integrated solutions to accelerate nuclear power development. The event drew the participation of nearly 200 representatives from international organizations and various countries. The representatives expressed their appreciation for CNNC's efforts in addressing climate change.

While in Austria, Gu Jun also attended the Vienna Group meetings and held discussions with partners from the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, and other countries.
